FOUR SEASONS Building Brochure

This building brochure uses as many as 5 different paper types. All of them special — not regularly used. It also has rather big size: 15in x 15 in. It also has one gate fold where the top (or the folded flap has to match with the 3d image on the facing page.

As we usually do, all the papers were first printed for dot-gain curves and new TRCs were prepared for them. All the sets were printed in 10m stochastic screen for great details. The jacket printed on the silver paper had squares die punched through which the painting on the canvas paper had to show through.

Since there were number of different papers bound together and all of them were too thick for plain perfect binding, pins had to be applied on the top. And we had to calculate the area that would go in binding and create the matching page illusion.

The job was having a very short print run and the papers were very expensive, so we were extra careful and did not allow high wastage. The pearl paper takes time for drying so we had applied online waterbased coating and dried it using hot-air and IR driers at end-of-press.
